A bit of background
Career (and Life) Nutshell
I am a freelance writer and copywriter, editor and adjunct lecturer. I am a Bostralian (which is a portmanteau for a ‘Bostonian living in Australia’ – not so fancy, really) who has been living and working in regional Australia for over ten years. As a city girl, I originally landed here kicking and screaming, but I have since come to love the bush, regional living and the lifestyle it provides. I still don’t own a pair of RM Williams though.
I have strong research skills (a great way to put off cleaning the house) and I can translate any complex document into plain language. If it’s content for your business’s website that you’re after, I can help with formulating the messages that your clients need to hear from you.
Published Works
My work has been published or been featured in the literary journal 4W, The Daily Advertiser, ABC Open, Life Matters (ABC Radio National), Gold and Glory, The Country Web, The Dorchester Reporter, South Shore Mamas, The Irish Times, and Little Old Lady Comedy, among others.
Education
In 2018, I completed a Master of Arts (Writing and Literature) at Deakin University (it took a village). My research thesis examined three films that portray representations of the Irish-American experience with a particular emphasis on the female’s experience.
Other (irrelevant) stuff:
- I have two fur babies (in addition to three humans, who are no longer babies)
- There is, at any given moment, anywhere between three and 27 books on my bedside table
- I tend to over-accessorize (I like scarves)
